Hours:

Sector: IT / Technology

Coverage: 12 sites across the UK & Ireland | Approx. 9,000 employees

No regular travel required; occasional site travel may be requested where necessary

We are supporting a major international technology organisation with the appointment of an experienced Environment, Health & Safety professional to provide maternity cover across its UK and Ireland operations.

This is a hands‑on EHS position supporting eight locations across the UK and four across Ireland. Although the role has responsibility across the wider region, local EHS points of contact are already in place at each site, meaning regular travel is not required. Occasional travel may be necessary should a particular issue or business need arise.

The successful candidate will support the continued delivery of an established EHS management system and work closely with HR, workplace services, Occupational Health and other internal and external stakeholders.

The maternity leave is expected to commence at the end of October, with the client keen to appoint somebody as soon as possible to allow an effective handover.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting EHS compliance and regulatory requirements across the UK and Ireland.
  • Managing incident, accident and near-miss investigations, corrective actions and follow-up.
  • Maintaining legal registers, risk assessments and operational controls.
  • Supporting the organisation's ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Maintaining EHS policies, procedures and associated documentation.
  • Supporting internal and external EHS audits.
  • Coordinating EHS training requirements and compliance activities.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response programmes.
  • Completing or coordinating ergonomic and DSE assessments.
  • Supporting workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Liaising closely with HR, Workplace/GWS teams, Occupational Health providers and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting ESG and EHS data collection, reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Providing EHS support across multiple UK and Ireland locations as required.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Multi-site corporate or office environments.
  • Risk assessments and legal compliance.
  • Incident and accident investigation.
  • Internal and/or external audits.
  • DSE and ergonomic assessments.
  • EHS training and compliance programmes.
  • Emergency preparedness and business response procedures.
  • Working with HR, facilities/workplace teams and Occupational Health.
  • EHS or ESG reporting.

An ISO qualification or auditor qualification would be highly desirable, although relevant practical ISO experience will also be considered.

DSE Assessor experience would also be advantageous.

Direct experience of both UK and Irish EHS legislation would be beneficial; however, candidates with strong UK regulatory experience combined with broader European or international EHS experience will also be considered.

Previous responsibility for EHS across multiple locations within a large organisation would be particularly valuable.

Location & Travel:

The preferred base is London or Dublin.

The role supports eight UK sites and four Irish sites, but local points of contact are in place across the estate. Regular travel is therefore not expected, although occasional travel may be required in response to specific issues or business requirements.
