We are seeking a Specialist Clinical Fellow in Neurology to join the team at Wexham Park Hospital (WPH). The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality care to both ward and outpatient neurology patients, working closely with and receiving training from our Consultant Neurologists.
For candidates with the appropriate experience, there is the opportunity to attend Grand Rounds at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) or St George's Hospital
, either in person or remotely.
This is a 12-month post, with the possibility of extension.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will work under the supervision of the Consultant Neurologists and will contribute to the care of both inpatient and outpatient neurology patients. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, assessing patients in the Emergency Department and other hospital areas as required, and attending consultant-led outpatient clinics.
Candidates with a special interest in Epilepsy or Multiple Sclerosis will have opportunities to attend relevant MDTs and specialist clinics. The post-holder will also participate in departmental audits, research activities, and the monthly Division of Medicine meeting, which includes audit review.

responsibilities
- Opportunity to rotate through specialist areas including
MS and demyelinating disease, Epilepsy/EEG, and Headache. - Participation in weeklyneuroradiology meetings with full imaging support (ultrasound, CT, MRI).
- Access to comprehensiveneurophysiology services with onsite EEG and consultant led EMG.
- Involvement in monthlycrosssite MS MDTs and twice monthly local MDTs with neuroradiology and MS nursing teams.
- Provide specialist neurology input to inpatient teams (no dedicated neurology beds on site).

Person Specification Qualifications- oMBBCH or equivalent.
- oFull MRCP (PACES) or equivalent
- oFull GMC at the time of application.
- oAdditional relevant Higher Degree (Masters or Doctorate)
- oTwo years in CT level Acute General Medicine with experience of Acute on Call
- oMinimum one year NHS experience
- oAt least two years' experience post completion of 2-year Foundation training programme.
- oNeurology experience
- oAn advanced and developing clinical capability in General Medicine care
- oAbility to manage Acute and General Medical emergencies with experience in providing medical care for Adults.
- oAn appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems
- oAbility to prioritize clinical need
- oAbility to maximize safety and minimize risk
- oAbility to work without supervision where appropriate
- oEvidence of effective team working and leadership, supported by multi-source feedback or workplace-based assessments
