This post is for 12 months, two posts are available.
ST4 trainees work a full shift rota, covering daytime duties and out-of-hours shifts across both general paediatrics and neonatal services.
Main duties of the jobWe are seeking an enthusiastic middle grade Doctor who has started their training in Paediatrics and is keen to progress their training within the existing team in a modern hospital with a well-equipped children's department and local neonatal unit (level
2).
While this post does not carry formal training recognition, it does provide an opportunity to care for a tremendously varied group of patients in a large paediatric department in a busy District General Hospital. This post holder would join a team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, middle grade and resident Doctors.
The responsibilities will include a combination of Registrar night duties alongside day shifts, and an opportunity to develop outpatient skills.
There will be opportunity for teaching and auditing.
You will be assigned a clinical supervisor who will oversee your continued professional development.

DetailedJob Description And Main Responsibilities
Provide care of acute patients under the guidance of the senior staff.
- Be encouraged to participate in audits
- Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation where practicable with their colleagues both senior and junior.
- Comply with Infection prevention and control procedures which is the responsibility of everyone. Employees are required to strictly adhere to the infection control policy
