We are seeking a patient, caring, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Slough, starting ASAP. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping pupils with special educational needs reach their full potential.
The school has a strong inclusive ethos and a well-established SEN provision. You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small-group basis
- Assist pupils with academic tasks, communication, and social skills
- Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
- Support pupils during lessons, playtimes, and transitions
- Monitor and record pupil progress and share updates with teachers
- Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and support staff
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting
- Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable
