Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Slough |
Pay: £92.63 per day |
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND unit within a welcoming mainstream primary school in Slough. The role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, providing tailored support on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping children access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress, and creating a positive and inclusive environment where pupils feel supported, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND on an individual and group basis.
Assist pupils with emotional regulation, engagement in learning and social development.
Maintain a consistent and reassuring presence throughout the school day.
Provide personal care when required and remain physically active, spending most of the day on your feet.
Use strong observational skills to respond proactively to each child's needs.
Support behaviour management and adapt to changing situations.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year's experience working with children with SEND.
Confident supporting a variety of individual needs.
Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Good observational skills and a proactive mindset.

This is a full‑time, term‑time position and is temporary unless otherwise stated.
