Windsor Forest Colleges Group is looking for a Careers Adviser to join our Industry Placement and Careers team on a permanent, part‑time basis. Based out of Slough & Langley College, the successful candidate will work 30 hours per week. The role pays between £24,313.78 and £26,518.38 (FTE £29,987.00 to £32,706.00) depending on skills and qualifications.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the Careers Adviser role is to deliver impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) to students through a range of delivery methods including group workshops, drop‑in sessions, one‑to‑one appointments and online support. The postholder will help students identify realistic and aspirational progression pathways, supporting them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with career planning, apprenticeships, further and higher education routes, and job opportunities.
  • Assist with the UCAS process, including applications, interviews, and student finance.
  • Contribute to staff CPD where appropriate.
  • Lead on careers‑related events and activities across the College, working closely with curriculum departments, the Core Studies team, and the Careers and Placements team to deliver a comprehensive programme of careers and employability initiatives such as employer talks, university visits, HE fairs, progression events and external partnerships.
  • Support key college‑wide priorities such as mainstream transition programmes, external audits and inspections (including Matrix and Ofsted), and the effective tracking and reporting of student destinations and progression outcomes.
Requirements

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS and Barred List check, along with other legally required pre‑employment checks.
