Are you a graduate or aspiring psychologist looking to gain valuable experience supporting children’s behaviour in a school setting? Do you have a calm and patient approach, and a passion for helping pupils overcome challenges?

A friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Slough is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their support team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils who may need additional support with behaviour, helping them to engage positively with their learning.

In this role, you will support children who may display challenging behaviour linked to social, emotional, or additional learning needs. You’ll play an important part in helping pupils develop positive behaviour strategies, build confidence, and feel supported within the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who need additional behavioural support
  • Help children understand and manage their emotions and behaviour
  • Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques when needed
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining a calm and focused learning environment
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Work alongside SEN staff to implement consistent support strategies

This role is ideal for graduates or individuals considering careers in education, psychology, or child development, offering hands‑on experience in a supportive school environment.

The school has a welcoming team and a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, making it a great place to develop your skills and gain experience.
