Are you a Maths graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, or another education-based profession?
We are working with a welcoming and supportive school in Slough seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while making a meaningful difference to students' academic progress and confidence.
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers, supporting students both in the classroom and through small-group and one-to-one interventions.
Your role will help pupils develop their mathematical understanding while encouraging engagement, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.
Key Responsibilities
Support students during maths lessons through one-to-one and small-group interventions.
Assist teachers with lesson delivery and effective classroom management.
Help students understand mathematical concepts and complete classwork.
Provide additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and other learning needs.
Encourage positive behaviour, participation and confidence within the classroom.
Prepare learning resources and support differentiated learning activities.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
Patience, empathy and a proactive, positive approach.
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
The ability to commute to Slough.
