We are currently recruiting for a confident, reliable and enthusiastic Unqualified Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Slough
, with an immediate start available.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience working with primary-aged children. The role would suit individuals with experience in education, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, support work or similar settings.
QTS is not required for this role
, making it an excellent opportunity for graduates, Teaching Assistants, Sports Coaches or those looking to take their first steps into a career in education.
As an Unqualified Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular class teacher.
- Support pupils while they complete pre-prepared work and activities.
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the class teacher.
- Ensure pupils remain focused, engaged and on task.
- Maintain a calm, positive and supportive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
- Provide guidance and support to pupils where appropriate.
- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
- Encourage positive behaviour and high expectations.
- Support pupils with their learning and development.
- Work closely with teachers, Teaching Assistants and other school staff.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher regarding pupil engagement, behaviour and completed work.
- Support the wider school community when required.
- Ensure the safety, safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Previous experience in a primary school or educational setting is beneficial but not essential
. - QTS or a formal teaching qualification is not required.
- A genuine interest in working with primary-aged children.
- A confident, calm and patient approach.
- Good classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Confidence supervising a class independently.
- The ability to maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
- A flexible and adaptable approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- The ability to commute to or work within the Slough area.
Pay: Competitive rates of pay, dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
Location: High Wycombe.
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP.
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm.
