We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of English to join our team for 12 months. You will lead and manage the English department to ensure high-quality teaching, effective resource use, and improved learning outcomes for all students.

• Develop and lead the English curriculum for all pupils.
• Create a motivating learning environment with well-organized resources.
• Prepare students for 11+ exams and run extra sessions as needed.
• Maintain detailed records and liaise with the Headmistress regularly.
• Identify and support pupils with additional needs or those who require extension activities.
• Promote English through extra-curricular activities like book fairs and World Book Day events.
• Manage the department’s budget and use IT for lesson preparation and reporting.

• Is passionate about English and raising achievement for all learners.
• Has high professional standards and a commitment to excellent teaching.
• Builds positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
• Plans and delivers engaging, innovative lessons.

• Promote high-quality teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
• Write academic reports and monitor pupils’ progress.
• Attend staff meetings and undertake supervisory duties.
• Comply with health and safety standards.
