Project Engineer Motherwell, Scotland Project Engineer Salary: £45 to £60 per hour, DOE 37.5 hours per week Initial 6 month contract with likely extension up to 23 months Onsite for the first 3 months, then 1 week onsite and 3 weeks WFH Potential candidates must be UK citizens, born in the UK, able to pass the required security checks. You will be joining a well-established aerospace and industrial technology site in the Motherwell area that handles advanced production and R and D work for complex switching, sensing, and control products used in demanding environments. It is a place that values proper engineering, teamwork, and steady problem solving. As a Project Engineer , you will work to recognised industry standards while helping produce high quality software and control solutions that feed directly into major defence developments.

You will operate within a multi disciplined team, using a range of tools and programming languages, and taking part in every stage of the software development cycle. This Project Engineer role also includes ownership of your own tasks, support for junior engineers, and involvement in assurance and review activities. Your responsibilities as a Project Engineer Deliver innovative, reliable software products to strict industry standards for key UK defence work Work closely with a multi skilled engineering group across all stages of the development cycle Take responsibility for your own deliverables and assist junior team members when needed Lead during assurance and review stages, ensuring configuration, release, and documentation are completed correctly Translate requirements into designs, implement and test solutions, and manage integration, configuration, release, and deployment What you will bring as a Project Engineer A background in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or a related field Experience or knowledge of traditional PLC programming Experience or knowledge of SCADA systems Experience or knowledge of Distributed Control Systems A reliable, structured approach and pride in doing things properly If you are a Project Engineer looking for a long term, stable contract with a balanced hybrid pattern and genuinely interesting defence aligned work, send Hayden at Holt Engineering a call or message on  and I will get everything moving.
