A leading engineering and technology organisation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team based in Slough. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative, environmentally focused solutions used across a wide range of global industries.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of product design from concept through to production. You ll translate customer requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions and ensure products perform reliably in real-world environments.

• Deliver mechanical design solutions for customer-focused projects
• Develop robust designs from concept through to production
• Produce and maintain 2D/3D CAD drawings (Inventor or similar)
• Apply best practice engineering standards across the product lifecycle
• Validate designs through analysis, prototyping, and testing
• Design for manufacture, assembly, and cost efficiency
• Drive modularisation and standardisation initiatives
• Manage and maintain accurate product data within ERP systems
• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions
• Collaborate with operations to ensure right-first-time manufacturing
• Interpret and challenge customer specifications where appropriate

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline
• Proven experience in mechanical design from concept to production
• Strong 3D CAD skills and technical drawing capability
• Solid understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Experience with design for manufacture and material selection
• Analytical, hands-on problem solver with a proactive mindset
