Credit Risk Modeller
Are you an experienced Credit Risk Modeller ready to dive into an exciting transformation project? Our client is on a mission to revolutionise their credit-risk capability with a cutting-edge credit-decisioning platform, enhanced data services, and innovative customer-lifecycle strategies. We are seeking a passionate professional to join this dynamic journey for a 6-month contract.
Contract Details- Daily Rate:
From £400 to £600 (inside IR35 via umbrella) - Contract Length: 6 months
Location:
Slough/Manchester/Hertfordshire (2 days per week onsite)
- Developing application scorecards, Probability of Default (PD) models, and behavioural models.
- Extracting and preparing large datasets using Python and SQL to support model development and validation.
- Utilising Trans Union and Equifax data, ensuring optimal variable usage & regulatory alignment.
- Conducting back‑testing, stability analysis, reject inference, and performance monitoring.
- Producing clear, audit‑ready model documentation for governance approval.
- Providing expert input into implementation, testing, and monitoring frameworks.
- Share best practises.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Python Expertise:
Strong experience in model development, feature engineering, and statistical modelling. - SQL Proficiency:
Confident in extracting and transforming large datasets effectively. - Credit‑Risk Modelling
Experience:
Proven track record in building application scorecards, PD models, and behavioural/in-life models. - Bureau Knowledge:
Deep familiarity with Trans Union and Equifax data structures and modelling considerations. - Analytical Capability:
Ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights. - Regulatory Awareness:
Understanding of model governance, fairness, explainability, and PD regulatory expectations.
