This is a senior leadership opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who thrives in a regulated environment and enjoys driving financial control, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

The OpportunityYou’ll be responsible for leading the Financial Accounting and Transactional Services function, ensuring robust financial controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial reporting across the business.
You’ll oversee a talented finance team while partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Financial Accounting and Transactional Services function.
- Maintain a strong internal control framework that supports regulatory compliance and business growth.
- Ensure accurate daily safeguarding reconciliations and oversee key operational finance processes.
- Take ownership of financial accounting integrity, minimising financial risk and maintaining best practice controls.
- Deliver accurate statutory reporting, balance sheet management, cash flow forecasting, budgeting and taxation reporting.
- Prepare and manage FCA regulatory reporting to the highest standard.
- Act as the organisation's technical accounting expert, providing guidance on complex accounting matters.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and processes.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and ensure timely resolution of reconciliation items.
- Partner with HR to oversee payroll reporting and analysis.
- Promote compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous development.
- Build strong relationships across the wider business to support strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
We're looking for an experienced finance leader with exceptional technical accounting knowledge and a proven track record within a complex, highly regulated environment.
You’ll bring:- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA status.
- Significant post-qualification experience within Financial Services or another highly transactional environment.
- Strong technical accounting expertise and knowledge of financial reporting standards.
- Experience operating within FCA-regulated businesses, with exposure to safeguarding, regulatory reporting and financial controls highly desirable.
- A proven ability to lead and develop finance teams through periods of change and transformation.
- Experience improving financial processes, controls and operational efficiency.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence senior leaders.
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational abilities.
- A proactive, collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing people.
