Permanent - Sergeant - Intelligence Supervisor - FIH - Slough and Reading
Full Time: 40 hrs/week (All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless there are legitimate operational / business reasons why this cannot be accommodated)

Applications are invited from substantive sergeants and will be invited from substantive constables through a promotion board but not yet promoted. This role is suitable for the WBA.
Role profile:Permanent - Sergeant - Intelligence Supervisor - FIH - Slough and Reading
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising Force Intelligence Hub staff and functions for LPA’s. Provide Resilience to other Intelligence Hub supervisors. Responsible for ensuring that all intelligence received is scrutinised, evaluated and where appropriate, disseminated effectively. Participate as a key member of the Force Intelligence team in identifying subjects, crime series, High Risk issues and priority locations, while stimulating the intelligence flow within the organisation.
To identify, prioritise and ensure effective management of risk and harm related
intelligence. To enhance structured intelligence gathering and analysis by assisting the Intelligence Hub in developing resolutions and strategies for the detection of offences and Crime Reduction Initiatives.
- Co-ordinate and capture Tactical Activity in Force Intelligence Hub through the National Intelligence Model and TT&CG process.
- Quality assure all Surveillance applications and act as Covert Supervisor prior to the applications going to the necessary officer for authorisation
- The effective line management and supervision of nominated Intelligence staff and Officers within the parameters of their published job descriptions and their periodic
professional assessment and appraisal. - The Co-ordination of Intelligence led operational resolution by Area Staff and where appropriate, by specialist resources within Thames Valley Police or by other specialist resources appropriate to the needs of the operation.
- By effective communication keep all staff appraised of current crime series and Priority locations, prolific criminals activity and high risk issues relevant to the Area, adjoining Areas and other Forces.
- Promote and develop the role of the Force Intelligence Hub both within the Police Area and with outside agencies involved in the reduction, detection and prevention of crime.
- Encourage, stimulate and co-ordinate the flow of intelligence between all departments and agencies (internal and external) in line with the National Three Tier System.
- Provide resilience across the Intelligence Hub Supervisory team, covering for abstractions, leave and sickness absence and supporting the on call out of hours rota.

Additional information:Previous Intelligence experience is desirable, as is being a detective.
