A specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Slough is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to support pupils with emotional and behavioural needs. Working as a Mental Health Assistant, you will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, counsellors, and psychologists, gaining invaluable experience relevant to careers in mental health and education. This Mental Health Assistant position provides hands-on exposure to trauma-informed practice and behavioural support strategies.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support as a Mental Health Assistant

• Assist pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development

• Support the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour plans

• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and wellbeing

Ideal Candidate:

• Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, Education, or similar (or relevant experience)

• Passionate about working as a Mental Health Assistant within SEN and mental health settings

• Resilient, proactive, and adaptable
