We are looking for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Upton Grange school. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, which will guide your practice within an education setting and clarify your roles and responsibilities while taking into account the requirements of your governing and professional bodies.
You will be given responsibility for holding a Speech and Language Therapy caseload, with the full support of your designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and also contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post would suit a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Essential Criteria :- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- 1‑2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting
- Relevant experience engaging and working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
- Experience of multi‑disciplinary working in a range of settings
- Experience communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
- Interest in developing knowledge and skills in different areas of SaLT practice
- Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgement skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good time‑management and organisational skills
- Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and clear understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
- Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, types of intervention and how to formulate support plans based on needs profiles
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
- Willingness to attend training and work toward further qualifications relevant to the client group supported
- Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Understanding of other differences, e.g. sensory and motor, which may impact communication strengths, traits, difficulties and needs profiles
- Understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
- ASD experience
