AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team supports all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. You will be part of a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
As a Data Center Technician, you will become the primary resolver for your support team, developing troubleshooting skills on one or more operating systems. You will troubleshoot and solve infrastructure issues, create documentation on technologies you support, and convey Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to junior staff. You will execute small projects independently and work with your manager on planning and executing larger local projects.
You will act as an escalation point for junior technicians and understand all aspects of the equipment you support.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with participation in an on‑call rotation and emergency shift coverage. You may be required to respond to after‑hours calls, work outside regular business hours, 12‑hour shifts, or rotating shifts to ensure operational coverage during critical situations. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
Responsibilities- Troubleshooting of facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Respond to off‑hour emergency calls per on‑call rotation for any one of the region’s sites
- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies
- 3+ years of Computer Hardware experience
- 3+ years of Computer Networking experience
- Willingness to work rotating shifts (day/night) and weekends in a 24/7 environment
- Ability to wear a pager for communication, information, emergency, and on‑call situations
- An Associate’s degree or higher in an IT‑related field, applicable certifications, or equivalent professional or military experience
- Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications
- Experience with CISCO, Juniper, and other commodity networking devices
- Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)
- Valid driver’s license, own vehicle, and willingness to pass a driving record check (travel between sites/locations may occur during the workday)
