Excellent Benefits. Are you an experienced Air Freight Operator looking for a role where no two nights are the same? I'm recruiting on behalf of a global logistics organisation with an outstanding reputation for delivering time‑critical freight solutions across international markets. Operating through an extensive worldwide network and supporting customers in highly regulated industries, they are continuing to invest in their UK operations and are looking to strengthen their night shift team.
The business has decades of experience in international freight forwarding and supports customers with complex global supply chains, specialist customs services and expedited transport solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an air freight bias who also has exposure to road freight operations and thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.

Working as part of a specialist operations team, you will be responsible for managing both import and export shipments, with a particular focus on exports for a key aerospace customer. This highly operational role requires attention to detail, urgency and excellent communication. You will also play a vital role in coordinating Aircraft on Ground (AOG) shipments, ensuring critical aircraft parts and components are moved as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Manage air freight import and export shipments from booking through to delivery
- Coordinate UK and European road freight movements
- Handle urgent AOG shipments with speed and precision
- Complete customs clearances and ensure full compliance
- Liaise with airlines, hauliers, overseas partners and customs authorities
- Monitor shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
- Prepare and check all freight documentation
- Resolve operational issues and ensure service levels are consistently achieved
- Previous experience within air freight operations (imports and exports)
- Exposure to road freight operations
- Experience completing customs clearances
- Knowledge of AOG or other time‑critical freight is highly advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise urgent shipments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently on night shifts
