The Warehouse Assistant will assist with the preparation and dispatch of hire equipment, ensuring that the operation delivers exceptional service to customers and meets business requirements.
The role includes developing preparation processes, implementing improvements to increase efficiency, and providing cross‑training support to the warehouse team.
Responsibilities- Administrative tasks as required for the role.
- Develop safe working practices according to health & safety policies.
- Prepare, assemble, and de‑prepare new and used equipment.
- Assist the asset management team with stock location and requests.
- Assist the loading and tipping of courier / transport vehicles.
- Ensure equipment is delivered within timelines with appropriate packaging and documentation.
- Immediately report any anomalies, lost or damaged equipment to managers.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean, organized, and tidy condition.
- Liaise effectively and professionally with third parties, customers, and internal teams to provide high‑standard support and adhere to Solotech service standards.
- Communicate (written and verbal) with all areas of the business and external sources clearly and effectively.
- Work as a member of the team, developing positive working relationships with colleagues, departments, and external contacts.
- Use a forklift to load/unload vehicles and maintain a safe working environment (where trained).
- Handle any other reasonable ad‑hoc requests as required by management.
- Good administration skills.
- Ability to interact with people at all professional levels.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to multitask while remaining calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with computers, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Initiative and ability to work unsupervised, recognizing when to seek assistance.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Fit and able to lift and move equipment within health and safety guidelines.
- Enthusiastic team player, building positive relationships with colleagues and external contacts.
- Knowledge of pro‑audio equipment.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Right to work and remain in the UK.
- Forklift licence desirable (training available if necessary).
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse environment.
