Location:
Office based, Slough
Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 DOE
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm, plus 4 hours on one Sunday in three
Are you an experienced Air Import Clerk looking for your next opportunity within international freight forwarding?
I'm working with a well-established, global freight forwarding and logistics business looking to recruit an experienced Air Import Clerk / Operator to join their busy Heathrow operations team.
This is a great opportunity to join a successful international organisation, working within a fast-paced environment where you'll be responsible for coordinating air import shipments, managing documentation and ensuring customers receive an excellent service throughout the process.
The Role
You'll be involved in the day-to-day management of air import shipments, coordinating the process from initial documentation through to final delivery, while working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing and coordinating air import shipments, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently.
* Preparing and checking import documentation, customs paperwork and relevant shipping records.
* Handling air waybills (HAWBs and MAWBs) and associated freight documentation.
* Liaising with customers, airlines, suppliers and haulage companies to coordinate shipments and deliveries.
* Arranging collections and deliveries, ensuring customers are kept updated throughout the process.
* Handling customer enquiries and resolving any shipment-related issues.
* Preparing quotations, checking supplier charges and processing shipment invoices.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant customs procedures and import regulations.
* Maintaining accurate records and working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations.
About You
We're looking for someone with solid experience in air imports or international freight forwarding who is confident managing shipments and dealing directly with customers.
Ideally, you'll bring:
* Previous experience in Air Import operations within freight forwarding.
* A good working knowledge of customs clearance procedures and import documentation.
* Familiarity with air waybills, consolidations and relevant freight systems.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
* A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Hours & Package
* Salary of £35,000 - £39,000, depending on experience.
* Monday to Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.
* Four hours of Sunday cover on a rota basis, one Sunday in every three, included within the salary.
