Assistant Housekeeper – Community Diagnostic Centre, Slough

Full‑time:
Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00.

Join our Facilities Team and help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

As an Assistant Housekeeper you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the department, ensuring safe and hygienic areas for patient care.

• Vacuum and mop floors, including sweep, damp mop, spot clean, and spray buffing of floor surfaces using machinery as required.
• Vacuum carpeted areas, remove spots or stains daily, and shampoo carpets using approved equipment.
• Collect and tag all rubbish, clinical waste, sharps, and flattened cardboard; dispose at designated collection points.
• Ensure waste segregation and placement into locked containers following Trust policy.
• Replace waste bags on stands/containers with correct colour code; keep containers clean.
• Damp dust lockers, over‑bed tables, chairs, beds, ledges, over‑bed lights, pipes, radiators, and bed/locker wheels.
• Use cleaning equipment and technological tools as required.

• Completed GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
• Basic cleaning skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Verbal communication skills and ability to understand instructions.
• Flexible approach to work.
• Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality.

• NVQ Level 1 in cleaning/support services building interior.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Understanding of reasons for cleaning.

This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.
