About the role

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least two years of post‑qualification technical, electrical and diagnostic experience. You’ll work locally in the Slough cluster – covering Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross – and will deliver roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.

Base salary: £41,600 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, where applicable). Realistic OTE: £66,000, with top performers earning substantially more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
  • Tackle a variety of tasks – from flat batteries and tyre changes to complex fault‑finding – and deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance to members.
  • Work demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.
  • Use your own RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit to support members.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least two years of post‑qualification technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
  • Customer‑focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
