Corporate Health & Safety Manager - Local Authority
Location: Hybrid (3 days on-site across council sites and schools)
Contract: Rolling 3-month contract
Rate: 650 per day (Umbrella)

A local authority is seeking an experienced Corporate Health & Safety Manager to lead and oversee health and safety compliance across schools and council-owned buildings.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing corporate health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with legislation, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.

• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate health and safety policies and procedures

• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and best practice

• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and site inspections across council buildings and schools

• Deliver health and safety training and promote staff awareness

• Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and preventative measures

• Maintain records and produce reports on health and safety performance

• Provide advice and guidance to managers and present updates to the Corporate Leadership Team

• Degree or relevant qualification in Health & Safety or related field

• Significant experience in health and safety management

• Experience with in a local authority, education, or large multi-site organisation desirable

• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

Hybrid working with 3 days per week on-site across council locations.

Rate: 650 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Rolling 3 months
