Overview

The Downstream Processing (DSP) Technician will be responsible for the daily execution of the buffer operation. The Technician will learn and carry out the basic skills used in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment and help to run the area and communicate to other teams. The Technician will work on buffer preparation activities as well as performing a list of daily tasks.

This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Formulating buffers to deliver on time in full to production
  • Completing batch records in relation to buffer formulations
  • Preparation of buffers and transportation to purification facilities when required
  • Dispensing solid and liquid chemical reagents and transportation to buffer preparation area
  • Understanding COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements
  • Measuring pH and conductivity
  • Scheduling buffers
  • Filter testing
  • Perform cleaning of buffer preparation facilities on a routine basis
Qualifications
  • Secondary school or maximum Bachelor's degree
  • Proactive individual with good communication skills in written and spoken English and basic mathematics skills
  • Previous experience working in a GMP environment is beneficial
  • Willing to learn the skills and techniques needed to maintain and increase the service given to customers
  • PC literate—able to use Word, Excel, and Email
