Hours:
Standard Shift
Pay Rate: £15 - £16 holiday accrued
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Powder Coater to join our production team, specialising in high-quality small volume finished products. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing components to a consistently high standard, ensuring durability, appearance, and compliance with specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare metal components for coating, including cleaning, masking, and pre-treatment
- Apply powder coating using manual spray equipment
- Ensure even coverage, correct thickness, and high-quality finish
- Operate curing ovens and monitor temperature and cycle times
- Inspect finished products for defects such as runs, thin coverage, or contamination
- Carry out rework and touch-ups where required
- Maintain equipment and ensure the spray booth and work area are clean and organised
- Follow all health & safety procedures, including safe handling of powders and equipment
- Work closely with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and standards
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in powder coating within a manufacturing or finishing environment
- Strong understanding of surface preparation and coating techniques
- Ability to achieve consistent, high-quality finishes on a variety of components
- Good attention to detail and quality control standards
- Knowledge of curing processes and coating specifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with high-spec or cosmetic finish products
- Familiarity with different powder types and application methods
- Basic maintenance knowledge of coating equipment
