PR, Events & Social Media Manager

This role sits at the heart of an exciting new venture between Jameel Motors and GAC, established to introduce the AION range of intelligent electric vehicles to the UK market.

As part of the team, you will help establish and grow AION Auto UK combining GAC’s cutting‑edge EV innovation with Jameel Motors’ deep automotive expertise to deliver a new benchmark in electric mobility.

As PR, Events & Social Media Manager, you’ll shape AION Auto UK’s presence across media, social channels, and major industry moments. This is a hands‑on role that blends strategy with delivery, driving PR activity, leading standout events and social media, ensuring compelling brand presence that reflects AION’s innovation, intelligence, and ambition.

You’ll be the storyteller who shapes how the brand is understood and experienced, crafting the messages, content, and moments that bring AION to life. Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Sales, and Product, you’ll ensure every touchpoint feels aligned, human, and unmistakably true to AION’s vision.

• Develop and deliver PR strategies, working closely with agency partners to secure strong national, trade and regional media coverage, while acting as the primary contact for PR communications and reputation management.
• Lead the planning and execution of PR events, product launches, retailer events, press days and influencer activations, while also identifying and pursuing strategic sponsor ships and partnerships that elevate brand visibility.
• Own and drive AION Auto UK’s social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, Tik Tok and other platforms, creating engaging content and crafting high‑quality copy when agency support isn’t required.
• Ensure all PR, event and social activity aligns with AION Auto UK’s brand and strategic objectives, collaborating closely with Marketing, Sales and Product colleagues to maintain a consistent message across all touchpoints.
• Monitor PR and social performance metrics, prepare reports and implement improvements to optimise channel effectiveness and campaign outcomes.

• A proven background in PR, social media and event management within the automotive sector, including experience managing agencies and delivering measurable results.
• Strong understanding of the UK media landscape, supported by established relationships with key journalists, influencers and media outlets.
• Experience managing social platforms, creating engaging content and using analytics tools to measure and interpret performance.
• Hands‑on experience delivering events, from small‑scale activations to large product launches and press days, including writing briefs, managing budgets and achieving commercial outcomes.
• The ability to tailor content and messaging to diverse audiences such as consumers, retailers, media, influencers and industry partners.
