Get Berkshire Active, SPINE Primary Care Network and Oasis Britwell are seeking a passionate and community-minded individual to join the Sport England-funded Britwell Place-Based Investment Programme as a Place Connector. Place Connectors are trusted members of the community who help bring residents, organisations and opportunities together, ensuring community voice and lived experience shape the future of the programme. Working alongside an established team of Place Connectors, the successful candidate will help people become more physically active, connected and involved in community life, contributing to a healthier and more connected Britwell.

Hosted by SPINE PCN and Oasis Community Hub, working closely with Get Berkshire Active, residents, community groups and partners, the postholder will help ensure community voice, lived experience and local insight shape the programme. The role will encourage and support people to move more, improve their health and wellbeing, and become more connected to community life, helping create a healthier, more active and inclusive Britwell.

The Place Connector plays a key role in the Britwell Place-Based Investment Programme, acting as a trusted link between residents, local organisations and opportunities within the community. Learn more about the Britwell Place Investment here

In this role, you will:
  • Help connect residents to local opportunities, services and activities.
  • Listen to local people and ensure community voice helps shape the programme.
  • Support residents to build confidence, make connections and become more active within their community.
  • Work alongside community groups, local organisations and partners to strengthen community relationships and participation.
  • Encourage local people to get involved in physical activity, volunteering and opportunities that improve wellbeing and community life.
  • Help ensure the programme remains community-led, inclusive and responsive to local needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build trusted relationships with residents, community groups and local organisations across Britwell.
  • Help connect residents to local activities, services and opportunities that support health, wellbeing and community involvement.
  • Gather community feedback, insight and lived experience to help shape programme delivery and local decision-making.
  • Support community engagement activities, events and Test & Learn projects that respond to local needs and priorities.
  • Encourage and support local people to get involved in volunteering, leadership and community opportunities.
  • Help residents overcome barriers to participation and access opportunities that are right for them.
  • Share information through trusted community networks and communication channels.
  • Support programme learning by collecting stories of change, feedback and community insight.
  • Work with partners to strengthen community connections and identify opportunities for positive local change.
  • Champion inclusion, equality, safeguarding and community-led approaches across all aspects of the role.

This is a part time contracted role (not an employed position) hosted by Spine PCN and OASIS Community Hub, working in close partnership with Get Berkshire Active and wider Britwell partners.
