An opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurses to join our friendly and supportive team in Christiansen unit, a 16–18 bedded general medical ward for male patients. The ward provides care for patients with various general medical conditions; hence a good opportunity for you to be involved with patients from various specialties.
Main dutiesAs Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be working closely with the Senior Sister and Matron, playing an integral role in driving changes with a range of comprehensive orientation and support.
We can offer you a range of management and leadership development opportunities to support you in this role. Essential skills key to this role are implementing and maintaining high clinical standards whilst caring for patients, enhancing staff personal development, providing guidance, support and expertise to clinical staff.

Person specification QualificationsEssential criteria
- Current first level NMC Registration.
- Evidence of recent continued Practice Development.
- Practice Assessor or working towards.
Desirable criteria
- Degree level registration
- Teaching and assessing qualification
Essential criteria
- Experience in acute medical or equivalent.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience of working in a medical ward.
Desirable criteria
- Has current Band 6 experience within the general-medicine area
Essential criteria
- Able to work as an effective team member. Be able to problem solve and demonstrate leadership qualities
- Awareness of current professional nursing issues
- Own professional development
- Ability to adapt to change within the working environment
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
