An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior Health Care Professional to join our dynamic Night Nurse Practitioner (NNP) team at Wexham park hospital, facilitating clinical expertise and collaborative working throughout the trust.

As a Night Nurse Practitioner (NNP), you will work as a key part of the Hospital at Night (H@N) team, supporting the H@N service which runs 19:30 to 07:30, 7 days a week. NNP's are expected to offer a broad spectrum of experience, knowledge, and advanced nursing skills. The role has been devised to deliver multi‑professional models of service delivery across the trust, emphasising multi-professional working to generate sustainable solutions to increasing workforce planning challenges.

NNP's are versatile healthcare professionals, managing complex and holistic clinical care for their patients across a variety of clinical areas. Their level of practice is characterised by high levels of autonomous decision making including the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex multi-dimensional problems. Decisions are made using expert knowledge and skills, including the authority to refer, admit and discharge within appropriate clinical areas.

This opportunity is for a permanent role, with a vacancy within the team arising from 27/09/2026 - this being the ideal start date for the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job
  • Develop professional autonomous working, conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and examinations.
  • Synthesise clinical findings to aid clinical decision-making and formulate and implement appropriate treatment plans.
  • Lead advanced clinical interventions and manage complex patient care in partnership with medical and surgical directorates out of hours.
  • Support cross-site working to the other acute site (Frimley Park) for training and when required.
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to multi-professional service improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • RGN/Diploma
  • Valid NMC registration
  • Acute Care/Critical care/Coronary care/Emergency Care Course level 6/7
  • Good standards of numeracy and literacy
  • ALS trained
  • Significant experience at band 6 within an acute setting
  • Willingness to undertake masters
  • Physical assessment Module
  • Non Medical Prescribing Module
  • Studied at level 7
  • ACP MSc
  • ALS/ ILS instructor
  • Willingness to undertake NMP module
Experience
  • Critical Care/Emergency Care/Intensive Care/ Coronary care
