An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. You will need to work closely with Consultants , Junior Doctors and other multidisciplinary teams on the ward, as part of the provision of care services to patients. We are looking for someone with a strong leadership style who is able to support forward planning and has a strong discharge focus in practice.

Main duties of the job As Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be working closely with the Senior Sister and Matron, playing an integral role in driving changes with a range of comprehensive orientation and support.

Essential skills key to this role are implementing and maintaining high clinical standards whilst caring for patients, enhancing staff personal development, providing guidance, support and expertise to clinical staff.

Essential criteria

• RGN
  - Current first or second level NMC Registration
• Evidence of continuing education & professional development
• Specialty qualification

Desirable criteria

• Degree in Nursing or other relevant field or can demonstrate experience of working to this level.
• Management course or qualification
• Leadership course, module, or qualification

Essential criteria

• Worked in a UK acute trust as a qualified nurse or student nurse in the last 2 years

• Proven teaching and assessing skills.
• Proven oral and written communication skills.
• Able to manage difficult situations effectively and to work under pressure.
• Able to prioritise and meet deadlines, working in an organised way with excellent time management skills
• Effective negotiation skills
