Our client is a growing gas utilities business operating within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment. Due to continued growth, we are supporting them in the appointment of an experienced HSE Advisor to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental performance and wants to play a key role in supporting operational teams across the business.

Ideally we are looking for an HSE advisor from the utilities background but we could also consider construction/highways experience as this could be transferrable.

As HSE Advisor, you will provide practical health, safety and environmental support to operational teams, helping to ensure that work is delivered safely, compliantly and in line with company standards and relevant legislation.

You will work closely with management, supervisors and frontline teams, providing advice, conducting site visits and inspections, and supporting the continuous improvement of the company's HSE culture.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide competent HSE advice and guidance to operational teams and management.

* Carry out workplace and site inspections, audits and safety observations.

* Support incident, accident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.

* Assist with risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.

* Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant HSE legislation.

* Support the development and delivery of toolbox talks, briefings and HSE training.

* Promote positive safety behaviours and a proactive safety culture.

* Provide guidance on environmental matters and support environmental compliance initiatives.

* Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and performance data.

* Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections where required.

* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help implement practical solutions.

About you

A experience HSE professional with a background within Utilities, Gas, Energy, Infastructure, construction, Highways

Nebosh (Preferred)

Experience working within a field based role ( this will be 50/50 based on site and operational hub)

Strong knowledge of the UK H&S legislation

Able to support on ISO 14001

Experience undertaking inspections, audits, risk assesments and incident investigations

Full UK Driving licence
