Pay

  • Pay Level: 6, £36,508 - £40,958 (inclusive of local weighting allowance)
  • Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (3 years)
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Location: Observatory House / Slough, Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)
  • DBS requirement: Basic
Key Information

Responsibilities

Help residents through moments that matter and play a vital role in building a stronger, more resilient Slough.

Support residents with applications for discretionary and welfare funding, including crisis payments, Discretionary Housing Fund awards and Council Tax hardship support.

Handle sensitive conversations, explain complex information clearly, and manage competing priorities accurately and efficiently.

Build positive relationships with partners and colleagues and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience of supporting residents in hardship or working with welfare benefits or Council Tax support.

Proactive, compassionate, and detail‑focused with strong judgement and commitment to supporting people when they need it most.
