We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Community Safety Engagement Officer to oversee pilot projects and community-based events that aim to consult with and engage local communities, developing bespoke interventions that increase community belonging and resilience, ultimately helping to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

This exciting role will involve working closely with a wide range of partner agencies to identify and develop strategies that address community issues, while overseeing the design, implementation and delivery of targeted interventions that make a real difference.

You should have a good understanding of the issues that affect communities, along with sound knowledge of crime and anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, substance misuse and serious violence, as well as the techniques used to tackle these issues effectively.

Strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential, together with a proven ability to successfully deliver projects and services.

Ideally, you will have significant experience of working on community safety issues and in partnership with a range of agencies. You should also be competent in using IT systems to support project implementation, management and the recording of outcomes.

A full, current driving licence is desirable. Due to the nature of the role, you must also be willing to work outside normal office hours when required to support community projects and events.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1 April, subject to six months’ service and satisfactory performance, until the maximum spinal column point is reached.
