2 days in the office min, inc. Duty days

officers are required to attend the office, at least 2 days per week and be part of a Duty rota - week days only.

Main purpose of Job:

To work with clients, provide advice and investigate homelessness applications made under the terms of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002, Localism Act 2011 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Renters Rights Act)

To provide a full housing advice and homeless service to those clients who are homeless or threatened with homelessness

To complete the personalised housing plan (PHP) with the client detailing the outcome of the assessment including steps to be discussed and the actions to be taken by the Housing team to address your housing situation.

To provide a responsive front line Homelessness prevention, Relief and Main duty service to the public including those who are homeless/threatened with homelessness in 56 days.

To provide current and bespoke homelessness prevention and relief advice, front of house assessments, issuing, monitoring and updating personalised housing plans (PHPs) and setting PHP Review dates. Issue Relief/Main duty acceptance/discharge letters

To conduct detailed casework to prevent or relieve homelessness, and propose main duty decisions.

To use every available resource to tackle housing need and prevent homelessness in accordance to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

To support diversity and inclusion across the service area in terms of service delivery and partnership working.

To prevent homelessness utilising all initiatives available to clients, both internally and through external organisations.
