Amazon Web Services is seeking a bright, motivated, hardworking, self‑starting individual to join our team as a Logistics Specialist in our Data Centres in the Greater Western London area.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and a commitment to Safety & Operational Excellence. This position involves frequent lifting of materials and products (up to 18 kgs). Responsibilities include manual tasks such as assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the shipment of merchandise and materials. The Logistics Specialist will coordinate daily scheduling of deliveries and collections to and from multiple locations, unpack boxes, verify contents, and keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company locations.

The role requires understanding of production processes, adherence to strict safety standards, maintaining high levels of quality, and willingness to travel up to 50% within 30 miles of London Heathrow Airport. Future international travel opportunities may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Data Centre Operations Technicians, Data Centre Engineers, Rack Install, Infrastructure Delivery and other internal teams to fulfill parts quickly and accurately
  • Coordinate all inbound and outbound deliveries, and maintain regular liaison with internal vendors, couriers, carriers, transportation and inventory planning teams
  • Receive and ship parts logically and physically, ensuring the Inventory management system remains up to date and accurate at all times
  • Receipt and stowing of all Inventory and non-Inventory items on the procurement system and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Enter accurate data and resolve questions from peer organizations
  • Execute stock rebalancing through transfers between locations locally and globally to maximize stock utilization and availability of parts at each location
  • Manage inventory, perform regular cycle counts, optimize storage space, maintain cleanliness, organization and safety of all workspace
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects based on business needs
  • Handle Reverse Logistics (RMA), interface directly with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions and reverse logistics
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Can lift loads of up to 49 pounds and carry them for short distances
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
  • Experience with shipping and receiving, inventory and warehousing practices
  • Experience in operations or inventory management
  • Experience with database management systems
  • Experience managing projects
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience with domestic or international travel coordination
