37.5 per week
What you will be doing:
Overseeing the day‑to‑day maintenance and repair of the vehicle fleet to ensure safety, compliance, and availability
Planning and monitoring preventative maintenance, servicing, MOTs, and inspections
Managing vehicle defects, ensuring timely rectification and safe return to service
Supervising and supporting technicians and external maintenance providers
Ensuring all maintenance work meets legal, manufacturer, and company standards
Controlling maintenance costs, raising work orders, and authorising repairs where appropriate
Maintaining accurate records, reports, and audit‑ready documentation
Liaising with operations, drivers, and suppliers to minimise vehicle downtime
Supporting health & safety compliance and promoting a strong safety culture
Identifying trends, recurring faults, and opportunities for continuous improvement
What do you bring with you:
Proven experience supervising vehicle maintenance unit Strong working knowledge of preventative maintenance, defect management, and statutory requirements
Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate maintenance activities to minimise vehicle downtime
Effective leadership skills, supporting and motivating technicians and managing external contractorsA safety‑first mindset with a consistent focus on compliance, quality, and risk reduction
Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills, ensuring audit‑ready documentation and accurate reporting
Commercial awareness, controlling costs while maintaining high maintenance standards
Clear communication skills, working collaboratively with operations, drivers, and suppliersA proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement
