This position works independently, referring to established policies and procedures, to provide safe and effective fitness programs, instruction and motivation to the members and guests of the Wellness Center, based on pre‑evaluated needs and goals.

• Assess fitness level of members and guests using Microfit, counsel results and recommend exercises based on individual interview and goals, considering the physical, psycho‑social, cultural/spiritual and age‑specific needs of clients. Offer weekly health evaluation slots and cover weekend appointments. Provide ongoing encouragement and motivation to enhance members’ and guests’ desire to attain predetermined goals.
• Ensure client agreement forms are completed prior to service and payment is received for all services provided.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments, client agreement forms and training sessions, and chart client goals and progress.
• Provide instruction in individualized fitness programs, demonstrating proper technique, checking for understanding and providing clients with written/electronic access to their periodized workout plan. Conduct reassessments when appropriate.
• Respond to questions from other departments, clients, guests and staff about training, fees and procedures and policies.
• Under guidance from the Lifestyle Enhancement Director, promote the Wellness Center’s personal training program and provide constructive input on customer feedback, suggesting procedural improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.

• National Personal Trainer certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• At least one year of previous personal training experience.
