RN Clinical Nurse IV - Medical Surgical​/Outpatient​/Cardiac Recovery

UNIX Health Johnston offers a Clinical Nurse IV position in the 2nd Brightleaf/Cardiac Recovery Department. This role is part of a 40,000‑person organization dedicated to improving community health and well‑being.

UNC Health Johnston 2nd Brightleaf/Cardiac Recovery Department includes 18 inpatient and observation beds, 6 outpatient rooms and 11 Cardiac Recovery rooms. The unit provides acute routine care for patients with cardiac diseases, respiratory diseases, and other diagnoses. Outpatient services include blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, wound dressing changes, and IV fluids. The department is the organization’s Stroke and Chest Pain Unit and is accredited by the Joint Commission for Stroke, Chest Pain, and STEMI care.

Clinical Nurse IV operates at an expert level in nursing, demonstrating expertise in caring for patients with multiple and complex problems. The nurse serves as a clinical leader, resource, and system‑wide consultant while participating in initiatives to increase nursing knowledge.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Magnet hospitals require additional professional certification within the probationary period.

Professional Experience Requirements: 18 months of tertiary‑care nursing experience, including charge and precepting experience.
