With moderate supervision, the Retail Keyholder assists the store management team in executing and supervising all store activities. This position ensures products are easily accessible, boosts sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, maintains a clean and organized shopping environment, and fosters guest loyalty and repeat business.
Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, and promote add-on items during transactions.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, ensuring every guest receives top-tier service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and alphabetized on the selling floor.
- Support store management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals, and complete required administrative duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed accurately; assist management in maintaining sufficient cash and change for transactions.
- Check shipments for discrepancies, record discrepancies in the POS system, and report them as needed.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring boxes are labeled with packing lists.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
- Follow all store policies and procedures, including those in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Follow opening and closing procedures and provide timely feedback on associate performance.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional guest service skills with genuine, friendly assistance to every guest.
- Clear verbal and written communication;
English required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations for attendance, dress, and grooming.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetical skills.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, with problem-solving and judgment abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions and deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb, and lift up to 30 lbs from ground to at least 4 feet.
Compensation: $8.50 - $11.25 per hour. Full-time store positions are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Additional bonuses and incentives may apply.
