Responsible for planning, coordinating and teaching learn‑to‑swim and water safety courses.

• Design and instruct group swim lessons, private swim lessons, and assist with the HQ swim team in the area of aquatics for HQ members and guests.
• Adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of participants so they can meet course objectives.
• Ensure that all documentation of classes taught and attendance is recorded according to HQ policies.
• Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the pool area, including floatation devices, kickboards, swim platform, etc.
• Maintain and follow proper precautions for using equipment and cleaning products for the aquatic areas within Health Quest.
• Schedule client swim lessons with HQ Director, insure participants are registered for appropriate lessons, speak to members within pool areas, assist with swim program questions, swim team practice / meetings, etc.
• Participate in health fairs and marketing events to promote HQ wellness and aquatic services as indicated.
• Investigate all information pertinent to concerns/issues and report results of actions taken to resolve the issue to the director.
• Report needs for equipment and supplies to the director on a timely basis.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned (e.g., assist with laundry service, membership events, facility tours, etc).

Other information:

• Must be at least 16 years of age. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred.

• Current Basic Life Support Certification.

• Previous swim instruction experience preferred.
