Job Purpose and
Summary:
Our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. Technicians support the pharmacy team to ensure that operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and we provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations. Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through SOPs, best practices, and effective communication, contributing to a safe and inclusive culture.
- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care in person, over the phone, and through immunizations and other services
- Complete basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed
- Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowed by law and with required training
Where permissible, the Technician may also support immunizations, including obtaining Technician Immunizer status, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, collecting patient information, and managing vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications- Must comply with state board requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
- If applicable, minimum age of 16 years and high school diploma or equivalent (or active enrollment in high school or equivalency)
- State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks; pivot between tasks to meet patient and business needs; ensure prescription accuracy
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: help people; respond to patient reactions appropriately
- Communication
Skills:
verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues; active listening - Mathematical Reasoning: calculate days supply, number of tablets, etc.
- Problem Resolution: identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions
- Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed
- Other tasks as directed by supervisor or manager
- 1-3 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market as needed

Pay Range$16.00 - $25.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade. Actual offer depends on factors including experience, education, geography and other factors.
