Senior Automation Maintenance TechnicianA day in the life:
You start with preventative rounds on conveyors, robotics, and sortation—logging each action in the SAP Plant Maintenance Module. Mid-morning, a sensor fault halts a line. You dive into HMI and custom software, isolate whether it’s mechanical, electrical, or controls-related, replace a proximity sensor, and implement a fix that prevents a repeat. After lunch, you collaborate with Engineers and Tech Support on a small PLC and I/O upgrade, then commission a new fixture for a robotic cell.

You wrap by tidying the work area, removing replaced parts, closing out documentation, and following up on a reported safety concern.

What you’ll do Partner with Engineers and Tech Support to tune, upgrade, and enhance automated distribution equipment.

Diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, and computer/controls layers; resolve and harden against recurrence.

Repair or replace components (e.g., sensors, wiring) and validate performance.

Assemble and commission fixtures, machinery, and robotic equipment.

Support applications development as needed.

Service equipment, record changes, and share feedback with Tech Support and Automation teams.

Act as a robotics systems expert—repair/replace mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems.

Execute preventative maintenance on all equipment; document thoroughly in SAP PM.Restore equipment rapidly via deep troubleshooting of faulted systems, subsystems, and components.

Use computer interfaces and custom software to troubleshoot equipment behavior.

Interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and service manuals.

Maintain orderly, safe work areas; remove and properly handle replaced parts after repairs.

Report and follow up on safety concerns.

What you bring

Associate’s degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology, or technical certification in electrical repair/maintenance.
3+ years maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment in manufacturing.

Analytical problem-solver with familiarity in controls software.

Hands-on knowledge of DC, AC, and stepper motors; PLCs; digital I/O; proximity/ultrasonic/photoelectric sensors.

Experience with 120–220 VAC and 3-phase 480 VAC.VFD/PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills.

Working knowledge of robotics/HMI/PLC and Microsoft Office.

Strong field problem-solving, a collaborative, can-do mindset, and clear written reporting.

Preferred Bilingual Spanish/English.

Robotics simulator exposure.

Experience with ABB, Denso, and Fanuc robots.

Vision system experience.

SAP or any CMMS experience.

CNC machinery familiarity.
