Overview
Sales Account Representative ation:
New England Region (covering six states). Company:
Ocean State Signal. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and building strong customer partnerships in transportation and traffic control equipment.
The Sales Account Representative will be responsible for driving business growth, expanding market presence, and building strong customer relationships. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, strategic vision, and sales acumen, with a focus on transportation and traffic control equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Drive Business Growth
- Develop and implement strategic market representation action plans to drive manufactured product sales performance.
- Create sales goals and monthly forecasts.
- Achieve revenue growth and profit goals.
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals across dealer networks, internal units, and OEM customers.
- Develop Strategic Vision
- Define, communicate, and maintain a clear vision for customer engagement that supports long-term business growth and strengthens relationships.
- Focus Customer Relationship
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts at multiple levels to ensure business continuity.
- Support vendor efforts to secure new business and represent Ocean State Signal in a professional, customer-facing sales capacity.
- Ensure effective communication of customer needs and feedback across the organization.
- Strengthen Partnerships
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, key stakeholders, and technical decision-makers to drive sales and customer loyalty.
- Deliver Technical Sales Support
- Provide product expertise through presentations, quoting, and proposal development.
- Ensure customers receive knowledgeable, solutions-oriented support.
- Additional Duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the business and department objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field is preferred; a technical or engineering background is strongly desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, including at least 2 years in a technical or industrial sales environment.
- Experience with in the transportation industry or with traffic control equipment is highly desirable.
- Previous sales experience working directly with vendors, contractors, municipalities, and state DOT customers is a strong plus.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
- Demonstrated success in managing and expanding customer relationships, including closing complex sales.
- Proficiency in marketing strategy development and market analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical documentation to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- High level of product knowledge with the ability to stay current on industry trends and advancements.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Willingness and ability to travel 75% of the time, including overnight and out-of-region travel as required.
