Base pay range

$60.00/hr - $70.00/hr

Kforce has a client that is seeking a FS Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS/EKS position in Smithfield, RI.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Build and maintain cloud‑native REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Maven, and OpenAPI standards.
• Develop event‑driven architectures with Kafka or Rabbit
  
  MQ and Kafka Streams.
• Implement Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, uDeploy, Git, and automated security testing tools such as REST Assured and Cucumber.
• Own the secure SDLC, including TDD, BDD, and automated security testing.
• Deliver features quickly and test end‑to‑end with Wiremock or service virtualization.
• Collaborate within an Agile (Scrum, Kanban) environment and practice BDD.
• Provide observability, metrics, and alerting using Datadog or Splunk.
• Design end‑to‑end solutions with distributed design patterns.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and communicate business requirements.

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with database technologies, Oracle SQL/PLSQL preferred.
• 3+ years of experience building REST APIs and event streaming platforms (Kafka or Rabbit
  
  MQ).
• Hands‑on experience with Python, Kafka Streams, SQL query creation, and Jenkins for Dev Ops.
• Strong experience with Dev Ops CI/CD practices, TDD, BDD, and automated security testing.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, uDeploy, Git.
• Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban) and BDD.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Hands‑on Java and open‑source skills to build complex web‑based systems.
• Experience with AWS EKS deployments and observability.
