Isle of Wight County Schools is seeking a Patient Care Technician Instructor at Smithfield High School for the 25-26 School Year

The Patient Care Instructor is part of our Career and Technical Education program. Interested candidates must have two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse and at least one year of direct client care or supervisory experience in the provision of long-term care services. Experiences may include employment in a nurse aide education program or employment in, or supervision of nursing students in, a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department, chronic care hospital, home care, or other long-term care setting.

Candidates must also hold a current, unrestricted Virginia license or multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse; hold or be eligible for, or be willing to obtain a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Technical Professional licensure with endorsement in applicable subject area.

Prior to being assigned to teach in a nurse aide education program, candidates shall demonstrate competence to teach adults or high school students by completing 12 hours of instructor training or refresher training in the past years if the RN has taught previously in a nurse aide education program.

Salary will be based on the approved FY26 Teacher Pay Scale. This is a 10-month position.
