OverviewThe Homemaker works in partnership with the Household Team and Central Kitchen Team. This role combines dining services and housekeeping duties, preparing healthy, appetizing food for residents and guests, serving meals, snacks, and nourishment, facilitating kitchen-related activities, and maintaining cleanliness and appearance of the household environment. The Homemaker is a versatile worker cross‑trained in various household functions to meet resident needs as they arise.
WhatYou Will Do
- Supports the various activities of the household or central kitchen environment while creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere for residents, guests, and family members.
- Regularly involves resident/guest directions and choices for foods, menus, recipes, presentation and housekeeping.
- Prepares high‑quality food in accordance with safety and health regulations, guidelines and standards, accurately following menus and recipes and understanding diet and nutritional requirements.
- Assists residents/guests with eating as needed and helps prepare appropriate snacks and meals.
- Maintains clean spaces in the Household, including guest/resident rooms, common spaces and staff areas, adhering to sanitation guidelines and universal precautions.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement processes that identify questions and issues to be addressed, ensuring quality outcomes and honoring resident/guest rights and responsibilities.
- Completes a typical day's assigned workload within the scheduled shift and assists other team members during heavy workloads.
- Demonstrates responsible, dependable and reliable behavior, being present for work as scheduled and adhering to the attendance policy.
- Assists with maintenance and inventory of supplies needed for household/central kitchen operations (e.g., grocery items, cleaning supplies).
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- 1 year of Hospitality/Food Services—cooks, restaurant, or housekeeping (Preferred)
- Serv Safe Certification from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (Preferred)
