Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Bag groceries at check out for customers, aiming for at least five items per bag without damage.
• Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist in removing merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to shelves, gather and return bascarts, and clean spills and trash inside and outside the store.
• Handle seasonal merchandise and understand store layout for product location and price checks.
• Reinforce safety programs, comply with safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, answer questions about products, and follow all laws and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, manage conflict, act with honesty and integrity, and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Retail experience is preferred but not necessary
