The Supplemental Pay Schedule allows for various assistant coaching positions at each high school. To be eligible for a supplement as an Assistant Coach, individuals are expected to meet the following qualifications:

• Reports to the Head Coach

• Adheres to all general coaching policies.
• Acts in the absence of the head coach.
• Completes the State-required concussion course prior to the first practice. Works closely with athletic trainers to ensure a safe environment for student athletes.
• Requires sound coaching and teaching techniques.
• Uses acceptable teaching practices.
• Runs well-organized practice sessions.
• Completes pre-season planning well in advance.
• Follows injury prevention programs.
• Constructs a well-organized game plan.
• Develops a system for equipment accountability.
• Informs assistant coaches, student managers, and statisticians of expectations.
• Cooperates with maintenance, transportation, and other staff involved in athletics.
• Supports all endorsed school activities.

Polite, courteous, and fair conduct towards visiting teams is expected. The coach is responsible for discipline, modeling proper behavior, and upholding school, league, and community standards throughout the season. Supervises students at all times before, during, and after activities or practices. Carries out duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
