Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Sander positions for a Manufacturing company in Smithville, TN. This is a (Temp/Temp-to-Hire/Direct Hire) job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:
• Sand wood parts and pieces for custom cabinetry using a hand sander or sandpaper
• Operate vibrating hand sanders, hammers, putty tools, and other hand tools and equipment as needed
• Prepare wood surfaces for the next stage of the cabinetry process
• Inspect finished pieces for quality and ensure surfaces are properly prepared
• Follow production instructions and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all workplace safety procedures while working in a woodworking environment
• Assist with moving and handling wood parts and materials as needed

Compensation (USD):$13.50/hour

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday5:00 a.m.

- 5:30 p.m.Friday5:00 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m.Breaks: 10 minutes every two hours

Lunch: 11:00 a.m.

- 11:30 a.m.Hours may vary between 8-, 10-, or 12-hour days depending on workload and current orders.

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Previous woodworking, sanding, cabinetry, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and sanding equipment
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
• Ability to lift and handle materials ranging from 1 to 50 lbs.; heavier items may require assistance
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify imperfections in wood surfaces
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain quality standards
• Comfortable working in a woodworking facility where wood dust, paint, and stain are present
